Section 1.1: My Journey Toward Gratitude
Reflecting on last spring, I was reminded once again of the importance of appreciating the small joys in life. Although I often find myself longing for more—be it a better life or higher expectations—I realize that the seeds of gratitude have been planted within me. Over time, they will blossom like fruit-bearing trees.
Subsection 1.1.1: Lessons from Isolation
April 2020 was a challenging time. We faced lockdowns that stripped us of our usual freedoms—no outings, no social interactions, and no visits to parks or shops. Yet, as we gazed out at the unfolding spring, I came to appreciate the simple pleasures I had taken for granted.
Section 1.2: Finding Joy in Everyday Life
I am thankful for the lessons learned during those isolating days. It became clear that my happiness was deeply rooted in ordinary experiences. The melody of birds chirping outside my window, attending church services in person, and the freedom to move about without restrictions are all treasures of joy.
Chapter 2: Recognizing Happiness in Routine
The first video, The POWER of Practising Gratitude Every Day: Increase Your Happiness, explores how daily gratitude practices can enhance your overall happiness.
The second video, How to Be Happy Again (1/3): 4 Habits to Be Happier in 1 Month, outlines practical habits that can elevate your mood and well-being within a month.
In addition, the chance for children to learn in a classroom setting rather than through screens while lounging in pajamas is undoubtedly a source of joy!
We often find ourselves dissatisfied with our circumstances, perceiving imperfection in the world around us. Yet, if we shift our focus, we can recognize the abundance of happiness and order that exists in our lives. There’s wisdom in accepting what we have instead of constantly yearning for what lies beyond our grasp.
The practice of gratitude is one of the most effective means to enhance your happiness.
Begin your day by gazing out the window and expressing gratitude for the new day and the sky above. What does it look like today?
Throughout your day, take a moment to appreciate each small joy and express thanks in your mind.
As you end your day, close your eyes and, before drifting off to sleep, offer gratitude to God or a Higher Power for everything that filled your day.
